Minum air putih 6-8 gelas per hari, terutama saat haid dapat mengurangi rasa kembung. Garam dapat menyebabkan kembung dan retensi cairan tubuh. Minum alkohol dapat menyebabkan dehidrasi. Bila nyeri haid disertai diare dan muntah, maka gantilah cairan yang keluar dengan banyak minum. Untuk yang tidak suka minum air putih, ada berbagai cara untuk mengatasinya, antara lain dengan menambahkan irisan buah pada air putih, ketimun, daun mint, atau lemon. Apabila tubuh cukup cairan (hidrasi baik) maka bukan hanya membantu meredakan rasa nyeri haid, namun juga baik untuk kesehatan tubuh secara keseluruhan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Makanan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Saat haid, pada wanita seringkali menyukai makan makanan yang mengandung banyak lemak, manis, dan asin, namun hal ini harus dihentikan. Hindari donat dan keripik kentang. Makan makanan yang tepat, dapat meredakan nyeri haid, misalnya makanan yang bersifat anti-inflamasi, seperti ceri, bluberi, labu, tomat, paprika, serta ikan yang banyak mengandung asam lemak omega-3. Makanan lainnya yaitu kacang-kacangan yang banyak mengandung kalsium, almond, dan sayuran hijau. Makanan ini mengandung senyawa yang melawan inflamasi, meredakan nyeri haid, dan meningkatkan kesehatan. Makanan ini baik dikonsumsi sehari-hari, bukan hanya saat haid saja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kebiasaan makan dan gaya hidup juga dapat mempengaruhi nyeri haid. Misalnya makanan olahan seperti roti, pasta dan makanan yang mengandung banyak gula. Makanan yang mengandung asam lemak trans, kentang goreng, keripik, dan mentega atau margarin. Hindari minuman beralkohol, rokok, dan kopi. Semua ini dapat meningkatkan inflamasi dan menyebabkan nyeri haid. Mengurangi asupan lemak, dapat mengurangi nyeri haid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Teh Chamomile<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Teh chamomile dapat meredakan nyeri haid. Teh chamomile mengandung banyak anti-inflamasi yang menghambat prostaglandin. Prostaglandin dibuat oleh sel pada endometrium uterus. Sel-sel ini melepaskan prostaglandin saat haid, menyebabkan kontraksi otot uterus yang terasa nyeri dan kram. Prostaglandin dalam aliran darah menyebabkan mual, muntah, diare dan sakit kepala saat haid. Obat nyeri efeknya menurunkan produksi prostaglandin. Minum teh chamomile menghambat nyeri akibat prostaglandins dan memperlancar aliran darah menstruasi sehingga memperingan keluhan saat haid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jahe<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa jahe dapat meredakan keluhan nyeri haid yang setara dengan obat anti-nyeri. Kelebihan jahe dibandingkan obat anti-nyeri adalah tidak adanya efek samping yang berat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Minyak ikan dan Vitamin B1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Minyak ikan dan Vitamin B1 juga dapat mengurangi nyeri haid, menurut beberapa penelitian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sinar matahari dan Vitamin D<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sinar matahari dan Vitamin D dapat menurunkan produksi prostaglandin. Prostaglandin menyebabkan kontraksi uterus yang menimbulkan rasa nyeri. Hal ini menyebabkan penurunan nyeri haid akibat kontraksi uterus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kalsium<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Semua orang memerlukan nutrisi kalsium yang cukup. Kalsium tidak hanya diperlukan untuk tulang, namun juga untuk jantung, toto, dan sistem saraf. Asupan kalsium yang adekuat juga dapat menurunkan nyeri haid. Makan makanan yang banyak mengandung kalsium seperti jus jeruk, ikan sarden dan salmon kalengan dll dapat memenuhi kebutuhan kalsium harian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Magnesium<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Magnesium merupakan mineral esensial yang diperlukan untuk system enzim tubuh, antara lain untuk membangun otot, protein, dan kesehatan tulang. Tubuh memerlukan magnesium untuk fungsi otot dan saraf, regulasi tekanan darah, dan mengontrol kadar gula darah. Magnesium juga diperlukan untuk membangun DNA dan RNA, serta anti-oksidan tubuh. Magnesium juga membantu meredakan gejala PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome), dan lebih baik ditambahkan vitamin B6. Asupan magnesium yang cukup, dapat menurunkan risiko endometriosis.
